The second annual Steel Horse Rally in downtown Fort Smith exceeded last year’s expectations. Organizers say the calculated economic impact for 2016 was more than $8 million, according to the Times Record.
Many thanks to volunteers and downtown merchants who work with rally organizers to make the events surrounding the rally a success. Kudos to the Fort Smith Police Department, Fort Smith Fire Department, and Fort Smith EMS for their expertise in preparing for large events and the safety of all participants.
Finally, a hearty salute to Joe and Liz Armstrong, and all those who made possible the Gen. William O. Darby monument unveiled during the Steel Horse Rally.
Real citizens making transformational changes in our town.
